Dedicated to the memory of Keith Ojo, aka Ojo / Jo

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce the sad passing of my dad, Keith Ojo (known to most as Ojo or Jo) on 7/10/24.

Ojo was born in Wythenshawe, Manchester on the 29th of June 1957 and grew up in Moss Side, later moving to the Chorlton area.
In 1986 he moved to the Toller Lane area of Bradford, and in 1998 moved to the Lister Park area of Manningham, where he lived until his passing.

Ojo worked as a stone mason and was involved in many prestigious jobs including the Halifax Piece Hall and Manchester Town Hall restoration projects, as well as many smaller local projects such as St. George's Hall in Bradford and Temple Newsam House in Leeds.

He was an avid music lover and had been an active musician in his youth. He played saxophone, trumpet and piano, and had also been a drummer in a samba band in the 1990s.
More recently Ojo became a keen cyclist and was a regular on routes along the Aire valley and around the Yorkshire Dales right up until his unexpected passing.

Ojo was a lover of the outdoors and a keen bird spotter – Hanging bird feeders outside his front windows and identifying all the different kinds of birds coming to feed was a source of great joy and entertainment to him, which is why I have set up the option to donate to the RSPB.  I would also encourage anyone who would like to pay a tribute to Ojo to place a bird feeder in their own garden/property, especially over the winter months.  He would like that.

Anyone who knew Ojo will know what a wonderfully chatty, friendly and upbeat man he was – He would talk to almost everyone he met and put a smile on the face of so many people.
His sense of humour, vibrant character and zest for life were infectious and would illuminate wherever he went.

His sudden and unexpected passing leaves a gaping hole not just in my life, but in the life of so many others he knew and worked with.
He was a kind, funny, friendly, generous, highly social and hard working man who will be missed beyond words.
If you were lucky enough to know Ojo, please pay tribute to him by sharing your best memories of him here.

Funeral arrangements are still to be made so please check here regularly as information will be posted as it becomes known.

Rest in peace dad, you are loved and missed more than you could ever know
