I am in shock at Ojo’s sudden death. I can’t believe he’s not here anymore. I was only talking with him the day before he died and his humour and fortitude were fully in evidence.
Ojo has been part of my life for forty odd years and, as the father of our son Niall, we have kept in touch by a variety of means over the years.
Latterly, as friends, we were in touch daily and he shared details of his life with me. Notably his passion for cycling, he would get out and about on one or other of his bikes as often as possible. He would say that cycling gave him a tremendous endorphin buzz and filled him with the joy of “the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.”
